£2000 Taxi Ride

blackcab.jpg89 year old pensioner Kathleen Searles has splashed out on a two thousand pound taxi ride from Suffolk to Greece.

Mrs Searles who is said to be Fed up with “gloomy” airports, opted for the comfort of an eight-seater cab ride for herself and her friend Wendy Turner, 73 to travel 4,000 miles across Europe.

The destination was to be Aristotle’s school in Naousa where Alexander the Great studied.

“I thought to myself that I am unfortunately very elderly and I didn’t fancy flying too much,”

said MrsSearles.

The cabbie, Julian Delefortrie, 63, spent three days driving the pair through Europe from Sudbury, Suffolk.

Well thats a different way to do it!!

    Now thats what we in the trade would call a good fair! It would probably take me 2 days of my takings as taxi driver to cover Julian Delefortrie’s fuel bill!

    The longest fair I have had as a Gloucester Taxi Driver metered just over £320, that was from Gloucester to Dover for some people who had missed the coach -that was taking them on holiday!
