The Eurovision Song Contest – And The Winner Is…..

RUSSIA

Who really cares! Does anyone actually watch the Eurovision Song Contest anymore?

When I was younger, probably about 11 or 12 we used to make a real night of it. Me and my Sister and my two next door neighbours (who were the same age as us) used to sit in front of the TV all night and watch the entire show and then the results. we would have fizzy juice, crisps, chocolate and our Mum’s would make us pizza or burgers. It was great fun.

Maybe we enjoyed it so much due to the fact that the United Kingdom had some chance of actually winning, and the closeness of the scores would keep us gripped. Now all you get is country’s voting for each other out of niceness or politics. That is not a contest, that is country’s been nice to their neighbours!

Now what do we get….An Irish Techno Turkey???

What an absolute waste of time!

In the past we had Bucks Fizz to entertain us or Abba…..I don’t think the UK will ever win again! Especially if we have entries like Scooch last year who came joint 22nd place (out of 24) with a measly 19 points. Now that was just plain embarrassing! But obviously not as embarrasing as last nights UK entry “Andy Abraham” who came last with 14 points!! Why did we even bother to enter?
