19 pairs of shoes are to be auctioned on eBay for the charities: Cancer Research, Cash for Kids, No More Landmines, and The Angus College Charitable Trust. They were collected by Angus College staff, who last year created a three-mile line of consisting of more than 20,000 pairs of shoes, which were then sent to charities in Africa and Asia.

The shoes include on auction this year include: A pair of Jimmy Choo sandals belonging to actress Emma Thomson, football boots from Rangers players Barry Ferguson, Steven Pressley and Christian Dailly. Daniel Radcliffe’s shoes which he wore when he played the part of Harry Potter, Elton John’s shoes from his 1975 world tour and Stephen Fry’s gave “hairy monster slippers”.

Bidding for the collection of slippers, trainers and high heels will close on 19 October.
