Glasgow – Things To See & Do (Part 1)
Glasgow gets quite a reputation for violence but on a whole it’s a great place to live. There are lots of gorgeous places to visit and loads of things happen throughout the year that make Glasgow quite a special place to be.Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland is is home to approximately 582,000 people.
Glasgow has some wonderful sights which include:
The Clyde Auditorium (also known as The Armadillo)
Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery

The Peoples Palace

The Mitchell Library

Glasgow is located in west central Scotland and has two major rivers that run through it, The Clyde and the Kelvin. You could spend the day on The Waverley, the last sea-going paddle steamer in the world, which sails from Glasgow Science Centre to Oban, Tobermory, Rothesey and Greenock to name but a few. The Waverley is also a bit like a floating museum, due to it’s fully functional engine room.

Other modes of travel around Glasgow include, bus, rail, the subway and of course you could have a trip up the Clyde to Braehead Shopping Centre in a taxi boat.

Glasgow is awash with live music pubs, clubs and venue. Some of the main music venues in Glasgow are the SECC (Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre), Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, (where the Manchester band Oasis were spotted and signed), the ABC, 02 Academy and of course The Barrowlands, a ballroom built in 1934 which is now a major concert venue with great acoustics and a sprung dance floor.
