Having recieved a Tom Tom One IQ Routes, sat nav for my birthday this year I have messed about with all the different voice setting ranging from Arabic to Italian. At the moment I have the genius Homer Simpson guiding me around from a-b. This got me thinking, which are the best celebrity voices for your Tom Tom?

1: Snoop Dogg

The American gangster rapper lets you know the directions with his West Coast shizzle bizzle. As Snoop himself says “Ride round with voice of a real superhero Dogg” and “Chuuch on da move yall” instuctions such as “Sharp left, yeah, so fly” let you know exactly which way to go. There is apparently some adult content.

2: Homer Simpson

The yellow man himself guides you around the streets, as you arrive he congratulates you with the phrase “You have reached your destination and you can hold your head up high cos you are a genius”, he could also get excited trying to find an icecream and occasionally sarcastically reminds you that “A thank you would be nice”.

3: Elvis

The king himself musically lets you know which way to turn, as he sings directions to you complete with live band intervals after each direction and the prominent voice of Mr Elvis Presley telling you “Elvis has left the car, Thankyou and goodnight” as you reach your destination.

4: Morgan Freeman

In the very same way that Morgan Freeman narrated the epic movie “Shawshank Redemption” his dulcet tones guide you safely around the streets with cool, calm and collected phrases like “After 600 metres it’s time to join the highway……..and remember, always look out for those blue flashing lights”

5: Robert De Niro

Yes the world’s most famous Taxi Driver will guide you with ease through the streets until you reach your destination. As with Snoop and Ozzy the instructions can be quite rude. His finishing comment on some of your journeys will be “Who taught you to drive? Stevie Wonder!” or “For a taxi driver you have no idea where you are going!”

6: Simon Cowell

The familiar voice of the X-Factor,American Idol judge will calmly guide you where you want to go, at the end of your journey he will sarcastically let you know what a disaster you are. Throughout your driving experince he can be either delighted or bored ridgid at your progress. Typical Simon Cowell…Does he never have say anything nice?

7: Roger Moore

My personal favourite Bond of all time will smoothly charm his way around the streets with quotes such as “My Tom Tom voice is bound to raise a few eyebrows, so lets go for a little jaunt around the country. Unfortunately this is not the best of the voiceovers but it would be neat to have 007 driving home with you.

8: Ozzy Osbourne

Also available as a bumper pack which contains ringtones and text alerts from Ozzy, the Tom Tom package can also be upgraded so that Ozzy actually says your name whilst giving directions. With quotes like “Hey hey - take the f*****g ferry”. Like De Niro’s, this package is also quite rude, you have been warned!

9: Joe Pesci

Once again, as with the Ozzy and De Niro voices this Tom Tom package comes with an offensive language warning. What you will love is that Joe Pesci, in the style of Goodfellas type movie character will let you know which way to turn, whilst effing and jeffing and threatening to kill someone. Nice!

10: Sean Connery

This is the second Bond actor which has made it onto to my top ten list. Sean Connery’s sultry Scottish tones lets you know that he “always like to go driving, whether it’s on the golfcourse or on the road” Ladies just beware that you do not lose concentration whilst driving along listening to the soothing sounds of his gorgeous voice.

The “Only fools and horses” favourite, Delboy Trotter will guide you through the streets and towns in his lovable cockney rogue way, (hopefully steering clear of Nelson Mandela Way & Peckham market) with quotes such as “In 200 metres it’s time to join the motorway - come on you Plonker!” and “Parlez-Vous Francais, we actually made it!”

Chris Eubank

The lispy voice of former World Middleweight boxing champ will tell you politely which way to go. Instructions such as “Pleath turn left at the roundabout and then you mutht go thraight on” well it’s difficult to type a lisp! Eubank for the Tom Tom is also available as a double pack with the voice British boxing legend Frank Bruno.

Victor Meldrew

The “One foot in the grave” character will grumpily direct you where you want to go, moaning about it all the way with phrases such as “After 400 metres….I don’t believe it!…….How on earth did you manage that for goodness sake!” The Tom Tom “Meldrew” pack is also available, complete with speed camera, ringtone and text alerts.
