I have no idea where or when this picture was taken. All I know is that I wish that was me sat in there. It just looks so peaceful and miles away from any other human being….except of course the person who took the photo!

Torrential Rain Floods Minsk City

As twenty per cent of the annual rain pour for the city of Minsk fell in one day, the city ended up totally flooded. Even the metro was flooded and streets and cars were left under water. The capital city of Belarus is situated on the Svislach and Niamiha rivers, which obviously did not help the vast amount of rain that fell.

Heeley Baths Reaches 100 Years Old

Heeley Swimming Pool SheffieldHeeley Baths in Sheffield has reached it’s 100th year. Once one of Sheffield’s busiest swimming pool, the baths has shone through the ages and is still as popular now as it was 100 years ago.

As part of the celebrations the baths will be holding 100 length swimming challenges to raise money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.

100 years ago the Heeley Baths consisted of a swimming pool, slipper bath, a laundry and also a Russian Sauna. Now the sauna is an Afro-Caribbean community centre and the original laundry now a children’s gymnastics club.

During the Second World War the pool was surrounded by barrage balloons and housed its own air raid shelter under the far end of the pool. The laundry room turned into a makeshift nursery and clinic for children, and in 2008 the pool was refurbished providing a new roof with modern insulation and new roof glazing, which resulted in saving money on energy costs. The interior was decorated, and new poolside changing cubicles and vanity units added.

Here are just a small selection of Heeley baths and what it had to offer through the years:

Everyman Campaign Past & Present

Naked Rugby PlayersThe Everyman campaign was launched back in 1997, in the UK by The Institute of Cancer Research. The campaign aims to raise the awareness of both prostate and testicular cancer. The campaign also runs a host of initiatives and adverts to raise awareness of male cancer.

Everyman also receives funding support from Tacheback, a UK charitable event where each September, thousands of men grow a sponsored moustache for that month to raise money for the Everyman’s research.

In recent years one of Everyman’s campaigns are various celebs and sportsmen who pose naked to help the cause.

Here are just a few samples of the naked campaigns, past and present.

Please Look After Your Teeth

It’s not hard, you just brush your teeth and gums for two minutes two or three times a day preferably using a flouride toothpaste. If you don’t look after your teeth they will rot, you will probably get gum disease which can be painful and lead to loss of teeth or worse.

This is an actual photo of a person who at first looks as if they have a very acute case of infected gums, ulcers etc.

The pimples that you can actually see in this pic are NOT ulcers, they are MAGGOTS
