Finally there is something worth looking at in Glasgow, Yes it’s a lovely city with some wonderful architecture, galleries and places to visit……but none of them are as beautiful as Brad Pitt.
He arrived here from London by Virgin train yesterday, which is reported to have cost him 40,000GBP to hire the whole train for himself, Angelina and the children. He is in Glasgow to film his new movie “World War Z” which is a 2006 post-apocalyptic horror novel by Max Brooks. The filming has transformed Glasgow’s George Square into a little bit of Philadelphia complete with American flags, Street signs and yellow cabs.

According to Fox the new Nicolas Cage movie, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” has joined the list of movies that are cursed. Nine members of the film’s crew were injured after an SUV swerved to avoid a taxi that suddenly changed lane, mounted the curb on the New York City set early on Wednesday morning. Just days earlier, two pedestrians were hurt when a stunt driver lost control of the vehicle and plowed into a local restaurant.
Other films which are said to be cursed are:
Rebel Without A Cause
Leading Stars James Dean ( Died at the age of 24 in a car crash) Natalie Wood (died at 43 in accidental drowning). Actor Nick Adams (died at the age of 37 of an apparent drug overdose, though no pill bottles or syringes were found in his home) and Sal Mineo ( Died at the age of 37 after he was stabbed in the heart by a robber). How hot does Cena look in this trailer? 12 Rounds is due for release in Britain on May 27th…not long to go now! He plays Detective Danny Fisher who discovers his girlfriend has been kidnapped by a ex-con tied to Baxter’s past, it does sound very similar to The Marine but it will be absolutely brilliant as he has to try and successfully complete 12 challenges in order to secure her safe release.
Joaquin Phoenix, who has twice been nominated for an Academy Award, said that his latest film, Two Lovers, would be his last.“I want to take this opportunity… also to give you the exclusive and just talk a little bit about the fact that this will be my last performance as an actor,”
he told the television programme Extra. He added: “I’m not doing films anymore.”
Phoenix, 34, said he would now focus his career on music. However he gave no further details.
We’re getting into summer blockbuster season – Hancock, The Incredible Hulk, WALL-E, Get Smart (which I am so excited for), The Love Guru, The Dark Knight – there are definitely a lot of options. But none of them even come close to making the top 10 priciest movies list. This list does consider inflation.
1. War and Peace – 1968 – $560,000,000
2. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End – 2007 – $300,000,000
3. Cleopatra – 1963 – $295,000,000
4. Spider-Man 3 – 2007 – $258,000,000
Bros frontman Matt Goss has revealed that they could be the next boy band to reform, and go on tour. Together with twin brother Luke who played the drums and bassist Craig Logan ,they enjoyed huge success in the late 1980s with hits which included “I Owe You Nothing” and “When Will I Be Famous”.
Speaking at the film premiere of his twin brother’s latest film Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Matt Goss said:
“If we can make the numbers work and the venues work, then we’re all up for it. Being in a band is like being a politician, you’ve got to make sure everyone is happy,”
“But Luke, Craig and definitely myself – we’re all up for it.
Craig Logan was the first of the three to leave the band in1989 and went on to become managing director of Sony BMG-owned RCA Records. The two brothers then decided that enough was enough in 1992. (more…)
Made famous by Hollywood hit film “The Sound of Music” the former home of the von Trapp family is being turned into a hotel. The hotel is to be named “The Villa Trapp hotel” and visitors to the hotel will be able to sleep in the family’s former bedrooms or get married in the chapel. The hotel and surrounding park just outside Salzburg, Austria, will open to the public in July and will cost around 100 euros (£80) a night.
The von Trapp family lived in the house from 1923 before fleeing the Nazi takeover of Austria in 1938. In 1956 the true story of Maria, the aspiring Nun who sang her way into the hearts of Baron von Trapp and his seven children was made into a movie based on the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, it starred Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer.
At least it is going to be made into something that people can use for years to come that fans of the film can visit, unlike quite a lot of the set used in the movie “Dirty Dancing” which was flattened to make way for a golf course apparently.
Oh My God!! I loved the film “Lost Boys” which was made in 1987 and starred Corey Haim, Kiefer Sutherland, and Corey Feldman, and now they have finally made a sequel “Lost Boys 2: The Tribe”, directed by P.J. Pesce and featuring……yes, you guessed it……Corey Feldman, Corey Haim. I love it when films keep the same actors. Lets hope it’s as good as the original.
Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson has co-written a horror film, which is to be unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
Supernatural thriller Chemical Wedding will then be released in British cinemas in the summer. The film stars Simon Callow as Professor Haddo, the reincarnation of occultist Aleister Crowley, once described as Britain’s most evil man.
Actor Sylvester Stallone, 61, was accompanied by his wife Jennifer Flavin, 39, and daughters Sophia Rose, 11, Sistine Rose, 9, and Scarlet Rose, 5, for the world premiere of his new film Rambo at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday, January 24th.
The plot of ‘Rambo’ follows a group of Christian aid workers who recruit John Rambo to guide them up Southeast Asia’s Salween River to deliver medical supplies to the oppressed Karen tribe. When the missionaries fail to return from Burma, the aging Vietnam vet leads a team of mercenaries back into the war-torn border region to rescue them.
Whilst making the film Sylvester and the crew also recieved death threats.
They were filming on the Thai-Burmese border, when he and the crew received a series of chilling warnings.
Speaking at the film’s UK premiere, he said:
“Yes, (we) got them all the time – it’s a very dangerous part of the world. A lot of people do disappear and you know they didn’t want this film to be made.
The civil wars have been going on for 60 years and no one knows about it because they pay a fortune to keep it quiet.”
