STEPHEN GATELY: 17th March 1976 – 10th October 2009

Stephen GatelyBoyzone singer Stephen Gately has died in his sleep, following a night out whilst on holiday with his partner, Andrew Cowles, in Majorca.

The circumstances surrounding his death remained unclear but News of the World newspaper reported he died after a night out. Boyzone manager Louis Walsh said “We’re all absolutely devastated.” He said: “I’m in complete shock. I was only with him on Monday at an awards ceremony. We don’t know much about what’s happened yet… He was a great man.”

The rest of the Boyzone members are said to be flying to Majorca this morning, Shane Lynch said: “Me and the boys are flying out in the morning, We just need to get over to where he’s passed and work out what we need to do.”

Stephen married his partner Andrew in a civil ceremony in 2006, after totally devastating most of the UK’s teenage girls with his announcement that he was gay.

He joined Boyzone in 1993 after answering an advert and auditioning in Dublin, the band went on to major success and to date have had six number one singles.

He also went on to star on the west end stage in “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”.

Is This Finally The End Of Oasis?

After 18 long years the Manchester band Oasis have allegedly finally split. Thank god for that.

OasisI am not saying that the boys are not talented and Noel is a great songwriter, but Liam is nothing but a moron (to say the least). After years of fighting and name calling which at times, has interfered with gigs and left fans disappointed with late starts and one of the brothers walking off stage. Fans in Paris were disappointed when they cancelled following a bust-up on Friday. I think it is high time that they finally call it quits.

In thier careers they have collected fifteen NME awards, five BRIT Awards, nine Q Awards and four MTV Europe Music Awards.

Noel GallagherIn a statement Noel said: “I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable. And the lack of support and understanding from my management and bandmates has left me with no other option than to get me cape and seek pastures new.”

He went on to say the rock group’s success had been a “dream come true”, adding: “I take with me glorious memories.”

Brilliant Beatbox On A Train

Now I am unsure whether this video is a set-up or actually happened. All I know is that if this group of beat-boxing geniuses, who were filmed giving it their all on a local train, entered a talent show like X Factor or Britians Got Talent, they would surely win.

They are absolutely amazing!

Beatles Fans Mark 40 Years Of Abbey Road Picture

Abbey Road Picture Is 40 Years Old To be perfectly honest I for one have never quite understood the buzz that The Beatles apparently brought to the world. But as The Beatles famous Abbey Road picture celebrated it’s 40th birthday, hundreds of Beatles fans gathered to mark the anniversary of when the zebra crossing shot from the band’s Abbey Road album cover was taken.

People crowded around the crossing and celebrated by singing Beatles songs, causing traffic chaos in the process and four Beatles lookalikes then strolled across the road for the picture reconstruction.

The photographer who took the famous original cover shot was the late Iain Macmillan.

Take That Win Second Silver Clef Award

The coveted Silver Clef award has been awarded to Take That for a second time, recognising an 18 year chart career. Take That, who are still in the middle of a 20 date stadium tour were first awarded the Silver Clef back in 1995.

They have now passed huge artists such as The Rolling Stones and Sir Paul McCartney, who have only won the award once in their long careers.

Other winners at this year’s ceremony at the London Hilton included Madness, who picked up the Icon award, and Queen, who were named Ambassadors of Rock. Beach Boys’ frontman Brian Wilson attended the ceremony to collect a trophy for Best International Act.

A Blast From The Past – Long Lost Songs

Whilst listening to radio the other day I heard a song that I hadn’t heard for years. Singing along at the top of my voice whilst driving along the road, I decided to think of other songs that I loved and hadn’t heard for years. Here are a few of the ones that came into my head:

Maxi priest – Close to you
