Squeaky The Piglet Could Be For The Chop

Squeaky The PigletThe piglet that fell off the back of a lorry could soon be sent home – and fattened for slaughter. A man has contacted the RSPCA claiming to be Squeaky’s owner and officials are checking to see if his claim is valid.

Squeaky was found after she rolled out through a gap in the side of a trailer where her mum had given birth to her just minutes before.

Freddie Ljungberg Signs For West Ham

freddie ljungberg picsAfter much speculation, the very sexy Freddie Ljungberg has today signed a £2 million move to West Ham. He had said that he was unhappy at Arsenal as they hadn’t managed to sign any big name players in recent years.

He said

“There were a lot of reasons why I wanted to leave Arsenal. Two years ago, when I signed my last contract, we talked a lot about the future and how they were going to bring in big players despite building a new stadium. We were hoping to stay one of the big clubs in England and Europe, but for me that didn’t really happen. Clubs have always wanted to buy me during the summer but I have always stayed loyal because I wanted to stay at Arsenal”.

Freddie who had been with Arsenal for 9 years insisted that he had no choice but to leave the Emirates Stadium, after Thierry Henry left in the summer and with the uncertainty surrounding Wenger’s long-term future at Arsenal, and Henry’s departure to Barcelona, Ljungberg felt that he had to leave as well. He is now hoping he can help West Ham challenge for major honours in the future.

Puppy Watch – Webcam

Strathclyde Police force has six new recruits.

The six puppies, born on the 25th of June can be monitored by the public as officers have installed a camera in their kennels, which will broadcast live from the dog unit which is based at Pollock Park.

The site which is said to be the first the first in the UK will update every 15 minutes, so that the public can monitor the progress of the new recruits.
Insp Alan Davis, of the Scottish Police Dog Training Centre said ” Strathclyde Police runs a unique in-house dog breeding programme and whilst this litter is the sixth to be produced since the initiative began in 2002, the new pups are the first litter of specialist search dogs to be born”

He went on to say “Of the 35 puppies born into the programme so far, 25 have gone on to become fully fledged police dogs working throughout the force area. I believe that this is the first time a UK force has taken on a web cam project and I hope that it will be as successful and draw as many hits, if not more, than the popular ‘name the puppy’ competition we have run over the last three years.

Cocker Spaniels are used in specialist areas such as drugs, explosives, weapons or cash detection and victim recovery work.

Paris Hilton Goes Back To Jail

paris hilton picsParis Hilton is back behind bars after just one day of freedom. A judge in Los Angeles over-ruled a decision by the sheriff’s department to send her home with an electronic tag.

And so he should!!

Other prisoners who are “ill” do not get electronically tagged and sent home, they would all be doing it and the prisons would be empty.

Just because her family have money does not mean to say that she can do anything she likes and get away with it.

Just think of all the families around the world who have lost loved ones due to drink drivers. Does their sentence of loss and grief get reduced because they have money?

Now I know she didn’t kill anyone……yet! But how many times does one person need to get caught driving whilst under the influence of alcohol before she stops……she didn’t even have a licence, as it was suspended!!!!

White Lions Born In French Zoo

white lion cubsFour white lion cubs were born at the weekend in Jurques Zoo, in France.

The three female and one male cub weighed about 1.5 kilos (3.3 pounds), according to the zoo they were separated from their mother at birth because she appeared to lack parenting skills.

“Nyala, their mother, wasn’t taking care of them. It’s as if she didn’t know what to do,”

said Bernadette Oury, director of the Jurques zoo in western France where the four were born on Sunday.

This will come as a welcome boost to the population of white lions as there are only about 30 of them worldwide.

They are absoulutely gorgous!!

Big Donor Show

I was just watching the news and was shocked to hear about plans in The Netherlands for a new reality TV show called “Big Donor”.

What is it????

It is apparently a “Big Brother” type show in which the contestants are competing for a life-saving kidney operation.

The Dutch government are saying that it is “unethical and should be scrapped”, However the broadcasters of the show are saying that it will highlight the problems that face people who are awaiting kidney transplants.

The donor of the prize kidney is said to be a terminally ill Dutch lady who has agreed to donate a kidney.

Personally I think that it is pretty sick. What do you think???
