After breaking 35 world records and 85 Olympic records the Beijing 2008 Olympics has come to an end. The Beijing 2008 slogan “One world one dream” has totally summed up the last 16 days for me, as I have avidly watched athletes from around the world compete from venues such as the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park, The National Stadium (The Birdsnest) and The National Aquatics Center (The Water Cube).

Viktors Scerbatihs is the Latvian Weightlifter who today won a bronze medal at the Olympics by lifting a total of 448kg - How cool is that?? While Britain get MP’s who are total idiots that dress in stiff looking suits and who generally think that they are better than the rest of us. Latvia get an MP who is a weightlifter, who actually seems quite a normal person and is not at all like the pompous arses that we get as politicians here.
The difference between a Latvian MP and a British MP!

At the age of 22 Rafael Nadal has just won his first Wimbledon final. Beating Roger Federer by 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-7, in the longest Wimbledon final in history, they have just finished playing after 4 hours and 48 minutes. He has now become the first player since Bjorn Borg to win both the French Open and Wimbledon back-to-back.
From April 2005 to May 2007, Nadal won a record 81 consecutive clay court matches before being defeated by Federer in the 2007 Hamburg Masters final. This is the longest winning streak of any male player on a single surface in the open era. These achievements have led many to regard Nadal as the greatest clay-court player in the history of the sport.
His career looks something like this, so far:
Singles
Career record: 302 - 73
Career titles: 29
Highest ranking: No. 1 (July 6, 2008)
Grand Slam results
Australian Open SF (2008)
French Open W (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008)
US Open QF (2007)
Wimbledon W (2008) (more…)

How do ugly footballers always end up dating gorgeous women? Maybe they love them for their looks, maybe they love them for their toned bodies, maybe they love them for their skills with a football, maybe they love them for their personalities, maybe they love them for the publicity & fame that comes with football or maybe they love them for their enormous pay-packets!!
Who knows? Maybe we will never find out but until we do here are a few examples of ugly footballers and their stunning WAGS! (Past and present)

As Nacho Novo made his way to the penalty spot my heart was in my mouth. He took a run towards to the ball and blasted Rangers into the UEFA Cup Final. After the match he was interviewed and was all emotional, it was really sweet. Not only is Nacho a hero he is also pretty damn cute, check out the pics below and let me know what you think?

David Beckham is to be named in Fabio Capello’s preliminary England squad of 30 today and is poised to win his 100th cap against France in Paris next week. Say what you like about Fabio Capello, he is no tool of the FA’s marketing department. Basing David Beckham’s return on a nice little friendly against the United States in May would have suited the men of commerce nicely. Sell a few tickets on the back of his century of England games; sell the television rights at a sky-high fee over the water; everyone’s a winner. Lovely jubbly, as those chaps at the Premier League like to say.
Capello recalled Beckham for the match against France in Paris next Wednesday because the England manager believes that it is the best thing to do for his team, because now is the right time to assess his form and fitness against opponents who represent a genuine test and because his presence will send a firm message to the younger players who covet his role.
