UCL – Barca lift the Cup

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the brilliant Barcelona Football Team who have just netted me a small sum of cash. At the start of the Champions League competition a small group of us, mainly family and friends each pick a team and place 5.00 in the kitty. Obviously this year the winner was ME!!!!

Barcelona defeated Manchester United 3-1 in the Champions League soccer final at Wembley Stadium in London.

Pedro Rodriguez, Lionel Messi and David Villa scored for the Spanish team.

Lewis Hamilton’s car impounded in Melbourne

Lewis Hamilton was pulled over for a reckless driving offence in a city street in Melbourne, Australia just two days before the Australian Grand Prix. The McLaren Formula 1 driver was said to have spun in the wheels in a “burnout” style manoeuvre in a 2010 silver Mercedes on Friday.

According to the newspaper “The Herald Sun”, Lewis will be charged with improper use of a vehicle. The stunt was performed in front of a crowd of fans, and due to the crowd there was also police present.

Lewis did release a statement soon after the incident saying:

“This evening, I was driving in an over-exuberant manner and, as a result, was stopped by the police. What I did was silly, and I want to apologise for it.”

Police have said that although he was embarrassed, Lewis was very cooperative.

The car was then towed to a police compound in Melbourne, where it will be held for 48 hours under what Australian police call “anti-hoon” laws – a law which is designed to clamp down on anti-social driving.

Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Is Over

Beijing Olympic LogoAfter breaking 35 world records and 85 Olympic records the Beijing 2008 Olympics has come to an end. The Beijing 2008 slogan “One world one dream” has totally summed up the last 16 days for me, as I have avidly watched athletes from around the world compete from venues such as the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park, The National Stadium (The Birdsnest) and The National Aquatics Center (The Water Cube).

MP Wins Bronze Medal At The Olympics

Viktors Scerbatihs is the Latvian Weightlifter who today won a bronze medal at the Olympics by lifting a total of 448kg – How cool is that?? While Britain get MP’s who are total idiots that dress in stiff looking suits and who generally think that they are better than the rest of us. Latvia get an MP who is a weightlifter, who actually seems quite a normal person and is not at all like the pompous arses that we get as politicians here.

The difference between a Latvian MP and a British MP!
